OKI Tv with buit in DVD
 

Anybody got one of these?

Bought one for my daughter for Christmas from Hipercor. TV works fine but the DVD is playing only in black and white!!

Is there a simple fix I am missing?

Otherwise it is going back this week for a replacement.

Surely it's just a setting or the DVD? Obviously nothing wrong with the colour, check the manual again.

Could the DVD player be set for NTSC or SECAM... which if you play a PAL DVD may show the picture in B&W?
Set it to auto - somewhere in the TV system / picture settings menu.

Or you are playing a NTSC (US) disc and the TV is not compatiable with NTSC

My suggestion would be to first, try a selection of other DVD's. Then, second, if it's still not working, take it back and have them show you it working properly.
