This is a potted version of the budget speech with regards cash for wrinkles

TAX, PENSIONS AND BENEFIT CHANGES FOR 2009

The Chancellor delivered his Pre-Budget Report on 24 November 2008. The following changes will be of particular interest to pensioners. Unless otherwise indicated, the changes will take effect from 06 April 2009.

Value Added Tax will be reduced from 17.5% to 15% from 1 December 2008 until 31 December 2009.

The basic State Retirement Pension will increase by about 5.0% (in line with the RPI) from £90.70 per week to £95.25 per week for a single person and from £145.05 per week to £152.30 for a couple.

Additional pensions will increase by 5.0%.

Snip, too much cut and paste, see rule 7.
