IS IT NORMAL?

Hi all, after over a year our house sale in UK and purchase in Spain is well and truly on the go. We are looking at moving out in 6 - 7 weeks. Now comes my dilema, after being so sure that this was the right thing to do for all of us, we have been researching and coming out to Spain for the past 2 years, I now have a huge attack of nerves and 'what the heck are we doing' is it normal:confused:

If it's any help - I was exactly the same - it's normal :) Relax and make a list so you don't forget to cancel everything and check that your passports don't run out soon (costs more to renew from Spain ;))

Any worries voice them on here and I'm sure you will get plenty of reassurance :)

Yes, and it becoames even more frightening when you lock up in the UK for the last time, knowing that the next home you unlock will be in a different country. Still it's worth it in the end..

Hi Squelch

My husband leaves on Sunday for Spain me and the kids are waiting till the house sells:)it is nice to see someone the same age and with kids going:rofl:I worry about what we are doing, then remind myself why we are doing it then still go through the same emotions again a week later:curse:it is very frustrating but I think it is normal, and although I assume we are both doing it for a better life for our kids you still worry:confused:maybe things would be better if we were staying as a family unit:(have been thinking of leaving the house empty:unsure:
Good Luck and remember this is the BEGINNING OF YOUR NEW LIFE:thumbsup:

BEST WISHES

AMBER:wub:

I only have one of school age, megan is just turning 9, she will hopefully be going to Santa Anna in Villalonga, I am taking her out in a couple of weeks to look around it. Silverchick has looked at the school and says it lovely. My other lads are nearly 18 and 19.

It is very scary I know. We flew out here with our three border collie dogs and three cats.It is well worth it in the end. The worst part for me was leaving my family. However we see more of them now and for longer periods. They love coming over here and have made many friends in our village.
I kept saying to myself if it doesn't work out at least we have given it a go.
We are very happy and have no regrets. The best thing we ever did.
By the way we now have five cats, our three dogs and two donkeys.
My mum gave me a fridge magnet when we moved:

New Start

A new life before you
A new challenge set
Encouraged by most
Of the friends you have met
Time to step forward
To make a new start
But take on your journey
My love in your heart

I hope you too find the happiness that we have found here in Spain.

It wouldn't be normal if you didn't have doubts and worries over such a big life change, in my opinion.

I bet there are very few people who didn't have some "argh what am I doing, will it all be ok in the end?!" moments!! :D

We had loads of setbacks with our move, including our property falling through literally days before the big trip over and lots of frantic phone calls and emails to find somewhere else.

People thought we were mad to carry on with our plans to move, despite having nowhere to live but luckily the hubby is very optimistic and in the end, it all worked out ok!

I'm sure your move will work out great too and when it's all done and you are sitting in the sunshine with a glass of something nice in your hand, you'll know it was all worth it

Making me feel better already:)It is so nice to hear from people who have done it and are happy and not regretted it, by the way do any of you speak spanish already:huh:

I am seriously thinking of going over in beginning of December, we have found a cheap 4 bed villa to rent, got me thinking are we better off being together as a family rather than me staying here and my husband being there, financially it seems to make sense we have gone on a mortgage break here so running one household should be cheaper than running 2 it's just having the security of the house selling:confused:just wish the house would sell, second viewing on Friday praying for good news:lol:
