Also agree - my interests and my situation are to do with where I live - which is Spain.
So should I become a Spaniard? Why should I - I'm a European!

If you see your future in Spain, why not take out Spanish citizenship once eligible?

We have all been brought up on films of sinister people in snap-brim fedoras saying 'your papers please', the hero running away and getting shot in the back.
Now even my pets have papers.
As far as 'no taxation without representation' goes - most people here seem to be happy with just the opposite.
I'm all for voting because it helps bind the community together, increases mutual respect and integration. A mayor and his corporation should represent and speak for all his community, not just those whose grandparents were born here.
I'm not even sure that those who don't participate in their local community are of much use really.
