Can anyone tell me which police station I need to go to to get my NIE number thingy. I live in Benalmadena Pueblo. I have been told it is Torremilinos but I am sure I saw 2 police stations there.
I have the forms filled out and photos and copies of my passport so I just need to find out where to go.
I have just enrolled 30 new students into my new Kickboxing academy in Benalmadena, a good start for us.

You are the same postcode as me and I got mine in Fuengirola, there are two police stations there also, you need policia local one.
You may need more than one copy of each though, I am sure tis best to take about three of each including the form.
Funnily enough though if you want residencia its Torre.

Fuengirola police station was a complete nightmare. And its not the local one you want its the comissiaria or something one. the two are next door seperated by a bit of a park area. its the one with the big spanish flags and the huge queues outside of it.

Found the NIE process at fuengirola a nightmare, they kept trying to give me resedencia and then tried giving me Gestoria forms. Told me i needed more photocopies of a form, so dashed off got them photocopied went back then he told me it was the wrong form!! This was teh form they gave me last time and told me to come back in like a month.

I ended up getting mine in Marbella, but i do live in Estepona now.

Try the main Policia National in Malaga, it south of Carlos Haya Hospital, very quick and easy.There is a longe queue as there get alot of South Americans, but they move very quick to clear them.

You only need NIE it`s proof of residencia, residencia cards no longer given since the EU directive abolished them.When you need to renew old residencia cards you`ll get the new NIE certificate.
