Default Bikers Delight

Hi,

Been searching the car websites for a car hire company that will allow me to drive from Spain to the UK. We fancied a month driving holiday including a visit to family and friends in the UK. All the car hire sites (that I've seen) won't allow their cars to be taken to the UK from Spain. Anybody know of any companies that will?

Steve

I think you would be cheaper flying / crossing the channel as foot passenger and hiring a car in UK.

We hired a local van after Christmas to go to UK from here & back. No problem.
Surely the big international companies can offer you to go to UK, such as Europcar, Enterprise, Hertz etc.

I've looked at all the big hire companies and their terms and conditions state that I'd have to leave the car at the ferry port and collect it on return!

Missile: Just fancied a driving holiday through Spain and onto the UK. Did it the opposite way about 6 years ago on my cruiser which was great!!!

Great idea, I have done that several times. Last month we travelled via the tunnel.

If you don't own a car you could arrange a one way hire car in Spain, tour wherever then leave it at the airport / ferry or rail terminal and hire another on arrival in UK.

That sounds the most logical way to do it. Thanks for the advise/help.

Oh my God, its a Suzuki TL1000s 'Widowmaker' if I am not mistaken. Very few pictures exist of one 'sunny side up', unless it was the sales brochure. Respect.......

But a hire car IS someone else's property.

Yes, it was a bit of an animal. The issue with mine was the loose nut on the handlebar.

I have a soft spot for big V Twins >
