Newbie-help with hairdressers
Hello! I am staying in Alhaurin de la torre at the moment with work up until November and have been here about six weeks so far.
I would like to ask if you could please tell me of a hairdressers that speaks English as i am in desperate need of a hair cut.
I am trying to learn some Spanish but only yet been able to cover things for eating out and would not like to try explaining in Spanish how to cut my hair so any information would be greatly appreciated.
The only one i have been able to find on the Internet is THE ENGLISH CUT which says it is based in Mijas Costa, would any one know of that one and are they good and not scalp you and i presume by the name they speak English.
Thank you,
ausi dream

Re: Newbie-help with hairdressers
zzzzzz!! Yes, I'm awake now Lynn!LOL
I use a Spanish lady who lives in a village called El Romeral, about 2 KM outside of AdlT, she runs a salon from her garage!! However, if you want an English hairdresser, if you can get over to Alhaurin el Grande, there are several of them! I cant remember any names tho. I'll ask my friend who's used thdm a couple of times. Sadly they charge english prices too tho!!
If I think of anyone else actually in AdlT I'll let you know!

Re: Newbie-help with hairdressers
............... BTW, You could draw a picture, take a photo or do sign language if the hairdressers dont speak any english, altho I would have thought most of them do

Blimey Jo, describing what you want doing to your crowning glory is hard enough in your own language. I wouldn't risk sign language with or without a photo.....

Re: Newbie-help with hairdressers
I hate having my hair done
luckily mine is long & wavy/curly (looks like a perm if I leave it) so a straighforward trim is all I need now & again
I do have a professional colour/highlights once in a while but I'm always happier when I do it myself...................

Re: Newbie-help with hairdressers
Its easy!! Unless you want a radical change (in which case a photo or drawing would discribe that), its simply a matter of the hairdresser seeing what style you already have and giving it a cut and blow dry! I've had far more disasters with UK hairdressers than my spanish lady!! And trust me, my hair isnt easy, its dead straight and terribly thick! (like me really LOL)

Ah thank you all so far that have replied.
Sorry for waking you all up on a Sunday morning, tend to loose track out here on what day of the week it is.
I am not too complicated on what cut, just a trim and i have a photo to show as well.
I don't think i would feel comfortable with a hairdresser that speaks all Spanish, i would like to be able to explain a little bit what cut i would like.
