Newbie

Hi all

I am a newbie member, I am seriously thinking about spending an extended period in the Malaga area.

I am kind of loose on plans just now and thought perhaps an experienced poster could share with me their experiences.

Happy to hear from anyone that has struck out on their own in the Spanish summer sun.....

Thanks

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Rosemary

When you are at the top of the thread list you will see "new thread" at the top of it on the left hand side. Just click it and then type your post and submit

What I am really looking for is a strong but not stifling expat environment where I can meet mid life like minded souls

Is Malaga a good choice or are there better regions

There are many Brits living in Malaga year round. In the summer it seems there are many more Brits than locals. The Police struggle to keep the drunken Brits under control. Not so bad during winter.

So are there better alternatives than Malaga, I don't really mind where I go but I want to be safe, or at least feel safe, I want community but a grown up type community rather than watching children push the police to distraction

I wanted that I could stay in the UK

Really.....

550 views and no one can suggest a decent start point for a long winter break in Spain......

So come on girls and boys, where are the community hot spots, where should I avoid and finally where are you and what's your balanced point of view about where you winter break

Thanks

Pat
