Hi, new to here. recently bought a place in Andalucia that needs a bit of work, cant wait to be able to move out full time. Its getting too expensive to live here in England!

I am currently reading a book "A Foreign Affair" (Two Innocents Abroad In Spain) by Shaun Briley. It's quite a funny account of when he and his girlfriend decided to relocate to Spain and bought an old farmhouse - no plumbing or electricity and stuck in the middle of nowhere in Andulusia. I think you will enjoy it.

Yes, I've read that book and it is quite funny although I did feel it was a touch exaggerated in parts.

People tend to forget how big Andalucia is, like saying moving to Wales;)

Please let us know, even the province, that would at least narrow it down, for instance I am in Albuñol, Granada which is in Andalucia:)

I get that on another website I am on, when I first joined it was about like minded people, now every single newbie has a website, and they only ever contribute to what they are selling, and are soooo blind they never like criticism.

Oh and they are always the easiest to wind up............................I have had quite a few bans on there for giving the newbies AND site owners crap for being so commercialised! I wouldn't mind but its a site devoted to downsizing and sustainable living.

Try reading the site rules at the bottom of every page.

Re: Newbie

Lets get one thing clear here, surely forums are for people to discuss and share interests, as in living in Spain. Some people have built websites for people to get enjoyment out of reading other peoples experiences. Its not like im making any financial gain or promoting any business. So, if you dont like the idea then dont look. As they say, "if youve got nothing good to say, then say nothing". Get a life.
Apologies to anybody who may take an interest, theres always a minority that just like to moan and winge. Still it gives them something to do........
Oh and thanks for the warm welcome!
