New Years Eve
Hi all,
Hope everyone enjoyed their christmas day. What is new years eve like over in Spain. Do you celebrate it better than over here. We are probably all going to the pub, but i hear that in some areas over there you celebrate with street parties etc. Whichever way you do it, have a great time. Baz |

Hubbys working that night so we will be in a bar but unfortunately he can't drink as he will be driving - but I can :thumbsup:

It is Spain, so one could suspect lots of alchohol, partying, food...oh- and 12 grapes.
We have to go across to Portugal to Monte Gordo to find real party and fireworks. We've tried our bit of Spain but its more of a family event with the bars closing well before midnight.:( |

I much prefer the New year in Spain.
For one no one charges stupid money to get into a bar/club and secondly its not unusual for people to party until 5-6am(deffo one off!!) A lot of bars in Benidorm are putting free buffet's on too which is great. |

We just watch tv and maybe see some fireworks from our window... A friend of mine and her daughter and dog are staying with us due to relationproblems sow it will be very great. Eat a lot of oliebollen en appelflappen. :rofl: And very much stay out of the cold outside! I can't wait to live in Spain and go outside to watch my fireworks. With a coat on I suppose... :p

I tried oliebollen yesterday for the first time and it is absolutely lovely.
It is like a heavy doughnout ball with raisins and icing sugar. Yum yum!! |

Originally they where baked by the rich people to give to all the poor people. You can easily live on them the whole winter! All the ingrediënts are cheap and bomming!

Apparently the World and everyone on it is slowing down, so 1 extra second has to be added to the time at the end of this year.
So suggest you all make the best of it by downing an extra shot..................... or maybe an extra grape in the case of tea totallers. :thumbsup: |
