Anybody paid it yet?I went to the Ajuntament after receiving a recorded delivery aviso.Registered, gave them my bank details (even though they have had them for over a decade) Just checked the notice today and the latest date for a voluntary payment was 5th December checked my bank and they haven't taken it.Did I miss that it's been repealed

Never heard about it, surely wast collection in collected in the normal way by your local council via Suma ?

Seems to be a new one hence the aviso.I pay basura already,I thought I should mention it as owners who have'nt been in Spain since the summer may not be aware of it.

Can't recall exactly but I think it's been in force for more than a year.
It's a recycling charge separate from the basura removal service.
I fixed a direct debit for it quite a while back and I've not heard anything about it being repealed.

I did the same as you and did a DD for this a couple of years ago. Not sure now whether it was 2010 or 2011. It seems to be slowly including more and more places.

Guess I will wait for the letter then, haven't heard of it before, will have a word with our neighbours see if they have had anything

ISTR it was introduced around Oliva and Gandia about a year ago - we don't have it yet but are also in Valencia. Dick was correct - it's a green tax for recycling.

The company, SUMA, don't operate here - they only collect in Alicante I think.

I would suggest going to the town hall and simply ask.

There are a couple of other threads on this.
As I was late paying I went to the Gestio de tributaria in Gandia to sort out and set up a DD etc. They were helpful and had all the details etc
