Would I choose to have a bloody great mast stuck in front my house ,no. But such is life . I can live with it and even put tinsel on it at Christmas. What I don't want is the bloody diesel generator churning away 24/7 By the way Jon doesn't play golf. |

OK back on track . First of all I am not a nimby, but I never asked or felt I needed 4G to make my life complete.I never liked their music anyway. (Oh sorry that was the Bee Gees)

Cant agree - firstly there is only so much you can say about the mast, and it was ALL said! So the thread was more than 'remotely connected', i.e :- The mast is there - an eyesore, there is a noisy generator, that can be heard around Lomas... and the plans are to move it to the water plant and connect to the 'mains' and therefore stop the noise, but move the eyesore to the Las Colinas area. Some people were commenting about sound screens and asking the town hall to move it quicker. Others weren't happy about the move. Nuff said..... The mast is there to increase internet bandwidth across Esuri. I posted my rule of thumb calculation to share the numbers with everyone, as this calculation was essential in my decision to choose my provider, as was my usage as a second-homer here. Others are in a similar position so I think it could have been interesting to someone. As it happens I don't hook up to the mast as a consequence. We are a friendly and helpful lot on the Ayamonte Club, and the only region to have our own page across the Spain Forum, so some banter and laughs are 'par for the course' (pun intended). If you look at the other threads on Spain, you will often see a lot of trolling, rudeness etc etc. Rarely happens here, rather, from time to time we have a laugh. I would hate to censor that and make this forum 'serious', and move any joviality to Facebook, not because I don't use FB but I think its nice to have a giggle from time to time too. Especially here and within the Ayamonte Club community. As I said earlier its like a discussion with friends it starts on one subject and can drift a little as well.... Long may that continue Jon |

I don't play golf but funnily enough when we arrived this time, we came on a non lo cost airline. After a decade or so Ive got a good deal a few times with non lo cost flights with a free baggage allowance. Bit by bit I now have my clubs, shoes and now the trolley here. Very old kit unused for 20 years! But I'm now fully equipped, with a full set including an extending rod with a cup on the end to fish balls out of the water!!! Also a flight bag to put the golf bag in. I'lll give it a while and if I still dont play I'll donate it to charity or someone. Years ago I had the pleasure of playing at some of Irelands best courses eg Powerscourt and also Druids Glen as a guest of Andersen consulting just before the Andersen world championship of golf. Had a lot of fun. But never got hooked. Totally off topic but just some clarity & banter Jon |

Re: New mast on CE
I made my point and do not want to dwell on it-pun also intended.I really enjoy the forum because it keeps me in touch with Esuri events and news .It is a lifeline to all who do not live there permanently. There is banter on a lot of the threads but most of the time it remains remotely near the issue discussed . The mast or improved phone signal would benefit all so I am therefore interested in the issue of the site position.

They may have sited the mast on Esuri, but that's all they have done, Nothing being sent or transmitted from it, Yet!!. And in town they seem to be laying all new cables, 4G coming soon???. It will be interesting to see what Priinet, will do if that's the case, as they seem to have most of Esuri and Ayamonte signed up to their contracts?. Ken. Ken. |

I have seen the Province wide contractor slinging fibre optic cables at roof level all along Calle Huelva so it must be getting closer to 4G city wide but I will bet that they will also get the opportunity for FTTP at the same time in town. About 18 months ago I read in El Pais that in the major cities if 50 households requested it then they would cable fibre to the Portal. That may be possible on Esuri but only to Marina Esuri, Vista Esuri, Las Encinas and possibly La Jahra. So 4G at the right price would be all the rest of us could hope for except perhaps Las Colinas when they move the mast up to the waterworks, they will have to take the cable up the hill from its present termination at S1. |
Re: New mast on CE
Just joined the group as I've seen posts on esuri. I'm at the top of lomas and they are building a base for something next to the mast. I'm told it's a five a side pitch! I've taken a pic but don't know how to post yet.
