New Malaga Marbella Train Link
H all
Does anyone know the route of the new malaga - marbella train. All I can find out is there will be seven train stations: Calahonda, Las Chapas, Los Monteros, Marbella Center, Marbella West, Puerto Banus, and San Pedro. I am in Calahonda and would like to find out where the station will be and exactly where the train line is proposed. Anyone have any details ? Cheers martyf1 |

Cheers martyf1 The track only goes as far as Fuengirola at the moment. There is a slight problem in Marbella also, someone has built an illegal 247 apartment block "Banana Beach" which they are still advertising for sale, on the site for Marbella station. Its the block of apartments on the beach just as you go under the Marbella road sign, they are still debating if it has to be demolished. |
Re: New Malaga Marbella Train Link
Personally im looking forward to this rail line. I think eventually its supposed to be heading right up to Alceciras eventually. The coast needs a decent railway service. It would certinately cut down on traffic (I wouldnt drive Estepona to Marbella every day) and be good for the further on towns as they would be more accessible.
Shame about Banana Beach. Another reason why i would never buy on the coast. |

It appears that virtually all the new line will be tunnelled and may follow the N340. But perhaps the info can be found on http://www.ferrocarrilesandaluces.com/
