In other words, this isn't news, per se, more common knowledge and had the government wanted to do anything serious about it, they would have done so years ago.

Still, with the crisis for young people worsening, in respect of not being able to afford a reasonable home and enough people making noise from the outside-in, maybe the government will be shamed into taking some real action. I doubt anything will happen until the next election bells start ringing.

In any case, the government will find it hard to control all the factors that contribute to spiralling property prices, given the number of EC members looking to buy a retirement home here.

As for the corruption scandal in Marbella, apparently despite all the excessive coverage, we have not yet been treated to the full facts and depth of it all - merely exposed to the glossy cover-version. Smacks of political interference if true.
