Nespresso capsules/delivery
Hi all
I have just bought a Nespresso coffee machine in John Lewis & had it shipped over to Spain. I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on coffee capsule delivery to my Spanish address, as they are only available to purchase on the internet. I am tempted to put some in my hand luggage from UK but even though they are sealed, I have a feeling they would be removed by customs.
Thanks

Thanks for that but for the machine I have I am pretty sure its online ordering only as they are not in retail outlets. I think I know the ones you mean, "dolce gusto" or something ! I just wondered if anyone else had done online ordering or travelled from UK with them in luggage.

my late husband got some for our Senseo machine sent over from Germany once with no problems - but I found I preferred the blends I could buy in Mercadona in any case

They also sell them in MediaMarkt, alongside the machines. And Corte Inglés. http://www.lasprovincias.es/20111115...111151650.html
There is only the one size of capsule, so don't worry about getting the wrong sort. Anything labelled Nespresso or Nespresso Compatible will fit.

Well, they were advertised relentlessly on Spanish TV for the whole of last year so I imagine you can get them anywhere. I never thought I'd get sick of the sight of George Clooney!

Re: Nespresso capsules/delivery
I have tried the ones from Mercadona, and they do fit the Nespresso machine.
However, I prefer the original Nespresso brand, which you can only buy online, or in the Nespresso shops, which I think are only in large cities like Madrid and Barcelona. If you order online they will deliver to your address, but I think it's €5 unless you order about 20 packs ( which I did last time). Otherwise I think they charge €2.50 to deliver to a local pick up point, which is generally a local shop. I have used this service and it works fine. As far as I remember it takes 3/4 days.
Check Nespresso.es for a location near to you (you can choose English as the language).

Or get a refillable Coffee Duck and use your favourite espresso brand.

Yes, you can carry them in your carry-on luggage as I have brought some back from Budapest in my hand luggage many times without any problems.
Others are right that other brands will work but the IMO the quality of the Nespresso ones is superior.

Just to confirm - I buy them in Mercadona. There is a marking 'MARCILLA and DOUWE EGBERTS on the pack and a brand L'AROME ESPRESSO. They come in 10 different flavours and each pack is just over 3 Euros for 10 capsules which is cheaper than on-line from Nespresso.

The Mercadona copies are dreadful (we threw ours away) when compared to the original Nespresso coffee. As mentioned, a few El Corte Inglés stores have a concession shop inside or you can order online. We just go to shop, thankfully just down the road from us, try a load of different ones and then buy a strip of 10 from them there. If we really like it then we buy more online (you need to buy 50 capsules, shipping is free), the prices are the same. Otherwise just go to a Worten or similar where they sell the machine and try a few capsules there and then buy online when you get home.
