MY COMPUTER IS STILL IN ONE PIECE

The Malware scare appears to be just that, a scare, albeit I wondered what would stop some folk from posting.:rofl::rofl:

I heeded the warning, but BEP has a presence on Facebook and there they explained what had happened and it was safe to enter! Despite the knockers, FB used sensibly, not just as a chat forum, it has it's uses.

How would we know if there was a real problem on this forum? We obviously can't believe the warning messages.

Stay out I guess until you know it is safe. I dared to enter  after reading this on FB,

Malware Warning on BE. This stems from users who had linked to smilies/images in their posts from blacklisted domains. Those domains were removed from posts and nothing malicious was actually on the site. Please be assured that BE is safe, however it may take some time for Google to clear the warning message.

We had an identical scare a while back and the forum was almost dead for a couple of days or so until the powers that be gave us the all clear.
I kind of presumed it was the same again and continued business as normal, though obviously I could well have been wrong.

seems like I missed all the fun, been out and about and just not enuff time in the day for everything, not even good old BE

I have a website hosted in the UK which on some occasions gets hit by a black mark because the hosting company has many thousands of hosted sites, some of which are/were/may have been porn sites and malware sites.
You can be known by your neighbours (in)actions as well as your own actions.

Companies like Google and Mozilla got so annoyed by the Snowden revelations that they were used by the spying agencies that they have tried to tighten up their security procedures and have possibly gone over the top.

It's strange that Internet Explorer hasn't followed them but Microsoft is so in bed with the CIA it probably couldn't.

Just read Dan Brown's Digital Fortress

I have been playing with computers and software for many many years and firmly believe that writers will always leave a "back door", its an ego thing.

the question is always Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Back in my working days we used to get regular health checks from the computer doctor, If I even attempted to look at what he was doing, he turned it off and took a toilet trip, I reckon that it's far easier than we imagine. :sneaky:

Because if the computer went down we couldn't continue with our business, very costly, where have you been for all these years, in a public sector bubble perhaps?
