Thanks Dave...
I think a lot of the negative response is due to our goverments foreign policies..And this is certainly understandable that many are offended by the US actions worldwide...People need to understand that there are a lot of good people in the US that really dislike the approach our goverment takes towards others.. A change is what we were looking for in this move and it looks like it will be more trouble than it is worth..

Thanks for the responses...............Chris

Chris, it's not just the attitude of us lot to US foreign policy and your present "government", which does upset a lot of people, it's more the attitude of the immigration authorities to anyone wishing even to visit the US, let alone come and work there.

For a country that was build on the concept of free immigration etc. it riles us somewhat that the door is now slammed in our faces should we choose to want to come and live there, let alone work there.

Even entering the country as a bona fide tourist or visiting businessman is becoming a joke. British Airways have just announced a plan to fly a small 38 seater from London City airport (business class only) and the real attraction is that it has to stop in southern Ireland (Shannon) to refuel and the passengers can pass through US immigration there thus saving the hassle when they arrive in the US.

Re: Moving to Spain from the US

Fred,
Agreed!
Yes I can certainly see where you are coming from as I just went on vacation to holland for a couple of weeks and wha I went through with customs was plain and simply wrong...
I was accused of being a drug mule by the customs agents and went through nearly an hour of them tearing apart all of my stuff and a full body search and I am a citizen......LOL..I would not want to have to deal with immigration....Not even an apoligy from those guys....
So I can understand the hatred towards our country....People need to realize that there are a lot of really good people in the US that hate the fact that our goverment has closed the doors on others, especially considering what the country was founded on in the first place......A joke indeed...We have decided to open up a little and maybe look at different places besides Spain...Possibly a place that welcomes newcomers ....LOL..

Take care.............Chris
