Re: Importing a pickup to Spain
I believe it's 6 months not a year but possibly moot anyway as being rooted in EU law I'm not sure that arrangement will have survived Brexit.
Even if it has to benefit from the concession it's necessary to obtain a 'baja' from the Spanish tax authorities which was no easy matter before Brexit let alone now! i
On top of that if it's classed as a commercial vehicle (if homologated in Spain at all which is doubtful) then being RHD it may be precluded from registration - period, RHD panel vans are.

Do you know where I can go to get more info please?

You will not be able to regegister a RHD pickup as would fall foul of the visibility requirements similar to a van.

”The rules for exchanging a licence have not been confirmed for those that did not register their details with the DGT or moved to Spain after 1 January 2021. We will update this page when more information is available.”
...let’s hope😉

Re: Moving to Spain from the UK advice please 😁
Hi everyone
Just joined this site and am after any help or advice whatsoever...
We are planning to buy a 2nd hand pick up and drive it to Spain in the next 2 to 3 months. So any tax implications and or costs advice welcome 😊.
We will rent initially for a year in the area between Alicante and Torrevieja Again any advice, agents details etc much welcome 😊😊.
Once we get a feel of the area we will look at buying a house somewhere in those areas. Once more advice welcome 😊😊😊.
What and where do we need to go to register, NIE, change licence, change number plates, register with GP etc etc and anything else I'm not aware of please.
And moving forward.
A good estate agency to rent from (will need to secure the rental whilst still in the UK)
Agency that can help us eventually buy a home.
A solicitor that can speak English and also provide and legally translate the conveyancing documents into English.
And any tips on moving to Spain and buying in Spain
Thanks in advance 🇪🇸😁

You're being optimistic - apart from the other practical aspects, no one has mentioned Covid.
On Monday, the whole of France goes into "outdoor confinement", with outings limited to 10 km from one's home and curfew at 19h00. No travelling between Regions without valid reason (which you wouldn't have). This is for four weeks, which will extend if the Covid/ICU figures continue to increase. We've been promised the possibility of restaurants opening and going on holiday this Summer, but probably not outside of France. Which implies that transiting through France and crossing the Spanish border won't be straightforward.
Keep an eye on the "Transiting through France" thread in the France forum, which is kept up to date with the travel restrictions.
Better to wait until the worst of Covid is past.....
P.S. Who are "we"? Although you seem to be dual nationality, the others will need some sort of family visa, unless they are dual nationality, too. If the "we" is a "partner" without being married to you, you'd have to research further, as Administrations usually consider "partners" as completely separate individuals. Take no notice of that, if you're married!
Health insurance is .... health insurance. You need to prove that you've been covered when you apply for Residency. If you aren't in the national Social Security System upon arrival (going to a salaried job, for example), you need private healthcare insurance to cover you all from the day you arrive until you're accepted into the System....
HTH
Sorry, I got carried away and the above health insurance and "partner" status info might not be applicable to Spain!

Re: Importing a pickup to Spain
Don't know why you'd want to buy a pick up unless you have a special deal on one rather than a van if you are only transporting some personal stuff.
Nevertheless, don't know why you want to buy a vehicle just to transport your belongings.
Don't know why you don't use a 'man with a van' which would work out a lot cheaper that buying a vehicle you may not be able to register in Spain never mind the extra costs of having to do so.
Don't know why you want to buy in the UK anyway as opposed to Spain when you will be living there with all the necessary changes in documentation and adding to it by trying to convert a UK vehicle.
Don't know why you don't get your good transported if you need to by one of the many companies doing it (as you can't get that much in the back of a pick up anyway and it is insecure as well) and buy a smaller normal car in Spain.

I suspect that he was replying thinking you were British, and only had British Nationality, then the comments made would certainly apply. This site is called 'British Expats' and, without being told something different it is fairly normal to assume that posters are British unless they tell us otherwise. In the situation British people find themselves now after Brexit we are expecting many people not to realise that things have changed and moving to any EU country is considerably more difficult.
