Re: Moving to Spain
Hi, welcome to BE.
I've moved your thread to the Spain forum, where you'll no doubt get good advice. I guess the obvious thing post-Brexit is do you already have residency or will you need to sort out a visa route? Good luck with the move. |
Re: Moving to Spain
Thanks for that
I haven't sorted the visa yet as was supposed to do this last year Been contacting my solicitor in Spain and will catch up with her about it when I manage to get back out |

Re: Moving to Spain
The tax situation is my biggest concern as struggling to get any answers
I get my pension lump sum next year and from what I have read the Spanish can tax that |
Re: Moving to Spain
Hi
I am in the hands of my solicitor as far as this is concerned I was hoping to get back last year to sort it before the end of the year but thanks to Covid that didn't happen |

The 25% remains tax free because you are not considered tax resident for the year you took the cash. You are Uk tax resident. The 183 day rule starts on the 1st of Jan (new tax year). |
