Moving to Spain

Hello BE and members in Spain/ interested in Spain- we are a family of 4 who would like to move to Spain in about a year's time, preferably the Alicante region. Could anyone possibly advise where the expat communities are, please? We know there is a large one in Benijofar/Rojales. What about Sax? We would opt for a slightly inland property. Any advice much appreciated- thanks!

You might want to see how Spain responds to Article 50 before making too many plans.

If Lord Howard has his way, you might be interned in Spain as "enemy aliens" !

Sax is a town dating back to the 10th century. See Sax.es | El portal de nuestro municipio
It is convenient to the E903 and many inhabitants commute to Alicante for work. Like most inland communities, it is not a tourist town and does not have a large ex pat population or the variety of amenities you will find elsewhere. It is a good location if you want to participate in Spanish life and like to explore the regions natural beauty.

Re: Moving to Spain

Hi all,
Apologies if I sound like a stuck record. But I am also looking to retire/move to Spain preferably the Costa del Sol ( Nerja, Frigiliana area).
Have read many blogs and am wondering 1) Is it expensive to live in the areas quoted? Some sites say you need a minimum of £2000 a month to survive?? Not knowing the current state of affairs in Spain at the moment with unemployment, Brexit and the rest! Would this figure be realistic?
I am looking at buying a townhouse or villa in the decent areas that are not visited by shell suit brits with tattoos and 10 kids round them!!( I know your probably thinking what a snob! but I'm done with holidaying with the likes.)
My family originated from Spain and would like to repay my commitment to such a lovely country.
Whoever replies be warned I have lots of questions.
