Moving to Fuengirola
I am moving to Fuengirola, but need to find an honest housing estate agent who could show me some apartments that are for sale. Anyone know anyone decent out there who I could work with.

Hi
The most honest one I know is Peter Fletcher of Dacha estates in Los Boliches, google his number.
Arriba are quite good, you will find then on the front at Los Boliches.
YPS are pretty good too.
Some are liars and cheats, one in particular I would avoid, PPm me for details. I have looked for a year or so, and honestly found Fotocasa and pisos.com the best source for properties, and if they are with agent view them and make your own mind up. If you view lots it soon becomes apparent what are silly prices!
regards

Re: Moving to Fuengirola
when the Better Half was looking for a place outside the big city she drew up a list of requirements and passed it out to half a dozen "estate agents".
They were so desparate they showed her anything and everything, one was falling down but "the owner will do some repairs before you move in", another was an hour's drive down tracks to get to the motorway for work. With a minimum of 3 bedrooms with integral garage being asked for the number of properties with 1 or 2 bed with on street parking 10 minutes away was astronomical. Many weren't even any use for holiday lets as the only transport would have been hire car or taxi everywhere.
The only honest one we have found in the past 3 years was in the centre of Granada, Spanish with little English who actually brought in an English language student from the university to translate for us, at no extra charge.
Him I would recommend - but its miles from Fuengirola, sorry.

The best thing that you could do is look at all the estate agents web sites...as many as you can.
Take a look at what's on offer and compare between sites as here in Andalucia the agents all pool the housing stock!
You will find many different asking prices for the same property on the agents listings, we found a 13.000€ difference on the house we bought.

On average what do you pay for property taxes per year on a 2 bed apartment. Is that the same as council tax? Thanks.

Hi,
For value, that is a toughie, as the area is an expensive part of the coast. I find that after Fuengirola it gets cheaper from El Faro to Calahonda. If this area rocks your boat then you can buy villas for less than 180k, but this area you need a car, there is no real town as they are urbs.
There are a lot of rubbish villas on the market which need 0000s of pounds spending and there are loads that are over priced. Patience is the key and hours of trawling fotocasa and kyero, pisos. com etc.
Do not listen to agents, research research research.
