moving to the canary islands

Ive been thinking of moving abroad for a while now and think its finally time to make it happen, but i havent got a clue where to start, i have 2 children that would be moving with me so how would we go about schooling and do i have to pay? Also how does money work in spain, is there such thing as help with rent? Tax credits? Etc....And how do i stand with health care?
And do i need to apply for visa?
also my mom and dad are moving to so can my dad still recieve his state pension?
Any info welcome, thank you

OK, schooling would be free, BUT you wil have to apy for all text books etc. assuming you are putting them in Spanish state schools, depends just how old they are. There is NO help for rent tax credits do not exist. Jobs in Spain are a bit scarce to say the least as it has one of the highest unemployment rates in the EU. You will get free Spanish healthcare PROVIDED one of you is working with a legal contract, otherwise you will need to pay for private heathcare. Lots of info can be found in this article, just scroll to the bottom where most of your questions will be answered.

No visas required for EU citizens, and the UK state pension can continue to be paid. As your dad is a UK pensioner, then he and his wife would be eligible for free healthcare, they will just need to get the S1 form from the DWP.

If you do NOT have a job to go to, or have specialised qualificarions that would mean a Spanish employer would employ you over the millions on unemployed Spanish people, and if you do not speak Spanish at least well, preferably fluently, then you are far better off in the UK where there i the benefit net if you have problems.
