To move or not to move - that is the question
Morning all
we are a couple looking to move out of the UK, as fed up with all is gripes, weather and lack of quality of life. Looking to take redundancy, and either buy or possible rent long term if that is possible over there ? My partners worried re the Brexit effect on moving and living over there, and wondering if anyone has any info or where I can find details? Also any links to long term property rental sites, looking for a large house suitable for b+ b cheers Nik |

For my 2c if you have to ask the question then the answer is almost certainly no, doubly so if you are under UK pensionable age and need to earn a living.

Better move before brexit and get a NIE asap

How do you get a NIE? Do you have to show residency in Spain first? Have a mailing address? Have an investment there? My husband is a Brit but doesn't live in the UK. We'd like to move to Spain, too.

Thousands of brits lived in Spain long before the EU came along so pause for breath and don't panic.

I am 45 next month, we basically decided that we also had, had enough of the London rat race. My partner works from home - writing and we make an income from this and various property investments that we made after moving here I would suggest that if you really want to do this > You get it done and are settled here with residency before the Brexit date! - Before Dec 2020, which could easily become March 2019 if the UK can't come up with a deal! I am sure you can come here afterwards > like our American friends down the road... BUT it will cost you a LOT more! |

cheers Nik Renting generally is much cheaper here (outside of Madrid/Barcelona and the very touristy areas) than the south of England for example. |

€500000 investment in property - a home or 2 houses etc - this investment would get you a Visa You can rent or buy here as an American and then apply for a Visa if you have an income of at least €32000 - for example from a pension. |
