Mojon Hills, Isla Plana

 Hello all,

As you can see I am a new member and would like to know if there is anyone 'out there' who has purchased a property on this site. We were informed last year that this development is now a year late so our house will not be ready until mid-2008. We were irritated by the fact that the builder did not inform us and we were told on our visit and were treated by the builders' rep as if we should consider ourselves we fortunate to be purchasing on this site.

I would like to contact prospective purchasers for advice and on how the build is progressing.

I suspect that means they haven't yet, or have only just, sold enough of the apartments off plan for the building to be started, usual figure is about 80% sold before construction starts otherwise they won't have enough money to build them. There are a lot of advantages, but also a lot of draw backs to buying off plan, not least the legality of the build.

Hi,
Ive purchased at Mojon on Phase 2. It is due to be completed at the end of the summer (this year hopefully). Not sure as to what phase you are on, but i'm guessing it is phase 3. I was last there in August, and was surprised as to how far they had come. We were able to get into our apt. and have a look around. Family went back in Sept and checked things out for us. We were pleased to hear that all our tiling and plastering had been finished, so i'm hoping things are going to plan. If you are in phase 3, then all the steel work was up when we were last there. Have you checked on Atlantia's site, because they post photo's every month or so? When we bought, we were informed that the build was running very late due to the mountain they had to 'move', but we only purchased last year so they already had an idea then.
Hope this helps a little.

Sarah

Re: Mojon Hills, Isla Plana

Sarah many thanks for your information, yes we are on phase 3 and have now been waiting for nearly 20 months and we were advised on the 24 month build time. When we went last year we were inform that they had to redesign most of phase 3 as it was now to include a communial pool. They changed many of the 2 bedded villa's making them semi-detached as space was need for the pool.
We are fortunate in as much as we are not inconvenienced by the delay as we still have our home in the UK, but not being advised as to how the build was proceeding and the changes that were made I felt was not good customer relations. I do hope the builders will advise us in sufficient time as to when the property will be ready.
We had put our house up for sale last year prior to visiting the site in April and luckly had not received any offers on our house before we had to take it off the market. Could you let me know of the site where you can view the build progress. Margaret.

Hi Margaret,
We briefly looked on phase 3 last July however, they had only just started with the steel work and informed us of a completion end of 2008, but I am far to impatient and want things yesterday. Our apt looks over the road and onto part of phase 3. I think, in time, the complex will be super and definately worth the wait. If you send me your e-mail i will forward you the password for the below site and also some other contacts that i have made who have also purchased at Mojon Hills.
Hopefully hear from you soon.

Regards

Sarah.

We purchased off-plan on phase 2 in June 2004 - it has been a very long wait! The 'contract' says 18 months from the start of building, which we think was about November 2004, so we are now running AT LEAST one year late. We have been told, however, that there is nothing much we can do by way of claiming any compensation over this, although a Spanish solicitor did suggest that she could write a letter, another local told us that it would just end up in the bin! It didn't really matter for the first year or so, but it would be very helpful now to have a realistic end date in order to plan our year. However, we have found Atlantia and our agent VERY poor on the communication front. Did anyone else have the fiasco of being asked to confirm where they wanted their electrical sockets without any information as to where they were planned to be in the first place? Has anyone got a solicitor that they would recommend? We have had very varying advice on this and more or less settled on the idea of using a local 'gestor' who is the only person we have met who seems to have some idea of how things work out there! Sorry, just had to get all that off my chest! Having said that, we are still very keen on the location. I think we may have had the password for the site at one point, but I would be grateful to be reminded of it - I asked Atlantia to remind me, but it's one of those e-mails they just haven't got around to answering! Perhaps it's time we paid another visit.

Hello - previous correspondant
I was so delighted to read you mail as I can totally empethise with your situation as from my initial input I too was hoping to correspond with someone who was irritated my Atlantia's attituded.
This is our second newbuild and the previous one was also late, it was at Camposol which is a massive project just 10 klms from Isla Plana where a large group of owners endeavoured to obtain compensation from the builders but all their letters too ended in the bin having wasted considerable sums of money.
We fortunately are in no hurry to move in as we are still working and in our home in the UK. We like you, agree that the location is worth waiting for and as we plan on making it our home and will be selling-up in the UK feel the property is worth waiting for. Having viewed some of the latest proto's it certainly is looking good.
Wishing you all the best in your new home. Margaret.

Re: Mojon Hills, Isla Plana

hullo,

i really am a bit new to all this,

a couple of years ago i purchased at mojon hills whilst i was acually looking for an investment opportunity up in the hills of serra espuña (i think it's called).

i found this beach "developmento" (as one would call it) quite by accident.

i paid a resevation (after disussing with my wife for hours), have paid a couple of intermediate payments and some of my first phase properties are looking rather nice.

i must admit, they are a tadge late, but the last i heard (and saw) they will be handing over towards easter; can it be any later than that.

communication hasn't been all that good either but has seemed to be gettig better recently. in the summer (2006) i purchased a couple of quaint furniture packs through them; i think Porto Mobelo is the company they use, which is ideal for rentals becuase i will be looking to rent these properties on completion.

does anyone know how rentals go in this area because i have heard so may stories?

Re: Mojon Hills, Isla Plana

hi,

just been reading previous notes from other purchasers.

some of who have been asking for the website of mojon hills; nobody has asked for the site, but it has been already mentioned in post 3

but i have another given to me by another chap

I dont think you should post a info/member url and password on here, it is a private account

i have used this various times and has all sorts of info; upto date building progress, plans and some wonderful aerial fotos.

it really is very good and i don't need them calling me every month to tell me; i´d rather look myself.

i do wish, however, someone would give me a definitive date for handover though.

ta'

"the url and password are given to all mojon hills owners."

I think that answers the question, not everyone on here is an owner and not allowed access.
If interested parties PM you, then it is up to you what happens then.

Re: Mojon Hills, Isla Plana

Hi there
We are in Puerto de Mazarron for the winter. We bought off plan on Phase 3A in Jan 2005, with the expectation of moving in mid 2007!! No chance. Phase 1 have not moved in yet. There is loads of work going on at the moment and Phase 2 is looking good. Phase 3A is being bricked up at the moment and since we have been here in December work has been continous on Phase 3. No-one can give us a completion date but mid to late 2008 seems about the time we can expect, but then they say `you never know`, but what can you do. We have sold in the Uk and are renting here at the moment and enjoying the fantastic weather going to Uk for summer and coming back in October to see how things are progressing.
But all in all it is a fantastic position and will be great when it is finished. This is my first time on this site but I will see if it allows pictures to be posted and if so will put some on when I get home in April.
Best wishes all!!

HELLO JAYMIN

So delighted to read your message, we too put our deposit on a plot for a villa on phase 3 and were given all the dates you mentioned and it now appears its an opened date as to when they will be completed.

We are still in the UK and has as yet not sold our house, but needless to say this has delayed our plans.

I too am eager to live at this location and a prepared to wait.

Margaret
