Re: The "Moan, Groan, Whinge & Complain" thread
I'm back after my li'l siesta followed by a quickie food shopping trip.
I can see better, but not crystal clear without my reading spectigals, so think I will keep them on just to be on the safe side. Thanks again for the advise jdr. The nap really did help :) Rosemary, I do think you're probably right about the pupil dilation thingie. I can never leave home without my sunglasses and my bike helmet has a special sun visor, but I guess it's not as good as my sunglasses. Jandy, thanks for the well wishes and I hope your OH gets back home sooner than expected and you have a special Saturday evening together ;) Crispygirl, you are so "spot on"! Things just seem to be failing one after the other. I hope Michael doesn't trade me in for a newer model :p, although I do think I keep him on his toes ;) |

I feel like crap today, does that count as a moan and groan?
You mentioned in another post somewhere that you like Khalil Gibran's writing. So do I. This is from the book "The Prophet" and I'm posting it here especially for you and wishing you a restful and relaxing weekend.... And a youth said, - Speak to us of Friendship! And he answered, saying: Your friend is your needs answered. He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving. And he is your board and your fireside. For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace. When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withhold the "ay". And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart; For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed. When you part from your friend, you grieve not; For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain. And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit. For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught. And let your best be for your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill? Seek him always with hours to live. For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness. And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. |

Few bobs worth there. ;-)
We did some work on an old pub built in 1675, some s/h oak timbers from old ships were used as foundations straight onto mud. We could not even hammer a 4in nail in one without it bending up, they were still solid as a rock. |

I have a woodcarver who buys all the old oak posts I ever take out of the ground from me, once carved it is stunning. There is £3000 worth of oak, the job is nearly £8000 for the finished product. Some people have tooo much money! |
