Body found in La Linea identified as missing cross-border worker

Date: 09 March 2015

The body of a young man found in La Linea has been identified by the Spanish National Police as that of a cross-border worker who had been missing for months.

The regional Spanish press reports that 34 year old Antonio Velasco Rodriguez was found near a hostel on Calle Sol in La Linea. He had been missing since the 19th of November last year. The Royal Gibraltar Police had also called for any witnesses to come forward with information on his whereabouts.

GBC | Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation

Other reports sugest he has been dead for some time

An investigation into the circumstances of Mr Velasco's death will now be carried out by the Spanish National Police.
