Not as it stood then, I had 6 months to re register, got rid of the car before my time was up

Yes it was, my insurance company only gave me 30 days to reinsure it over here, which I did, because they said after that no green card. So no law broken :)

The law has always been Tax`d, MOT`d and insured in country of origin, so technically you was driving an illegal car for 4 months, even though the insurance company took your money, there is no way they would cover you on a claim with an illegal car.
So many people make this mistake.....

Well don't tell my insurers because they did pay out on a claim in those 4 months :D
