In the news, a Spanish couple on holiday in Norway found their lack of the language a bit expensive.... see

An expensive holiday!

Still, mistakes like that are easily made... I walked into the doctors the other day and asked him for some cattle! I can't tell you how embarazada I felt... :o :rofl: :rofl:

I once asked an Italian chemist for some amphetamines instead of antihistamines.

I did eventually get some allergy tablets !

...and still not decided on a name! :D

Some vaccinations - I guess there is a Latin link between the two!

like Italian in the sense that

cane = dog carne = meat.

And if you don't pronounce the double N in the penne type of pasta, guess what word you get instead !

& the spanish spelling produces the same as the italian pronuciation
