Mini Kedada - Ayamonte
How about organising some kind of regular no pressure get together for BE members?
I´m going to give an example for the Ayamonte area because that is relevant to me, but it might also work in Chiclana for example where there are a lot of BE members. We could say every Saturday, 6pm in the Costa Esuri golf club house for a quick drink and chat. If you happen to be in Ayamonte at the right time then just turn up - no need to notify anyone in advance, so no pressure if you change your mind at the last minute. If you happen to be the only one that turns up, well so be it, just have a drink and go. We would have to devise someway of recognising each other of course - perhaps we should all wear bright orange trousers? What do you think - good idea? or should I just go back to sucking my thumb and dribbling? |

Hey Keith, I think that is a very good idea. No firm commitment so you don't have to be there to keep to an arranged meet up and as you say " no pressure" but a good way to have a regular informal get together. Re. a previous thread will it be ok to turn up in my dressing gown ?

Re: Mini Kedada - Ayamonte
Well okay then, shall we see if it works?
Does SATURDAYS at 6PM in COSTA ESURI CLUB HOUSE BAR sound reasonable? How are we going to recognise each other though? Maybe there is something we could bring with us. What though? |

We could have local gatherings in each of our areas and then call them chapters - and have an annual booze up at Xmas |

Hola! Keith,
 Red carnations? Good idea, and since the place closes at 7pm (winter hours?), not long to wait if no one shows up... But, what is a mini kedada? Regards, Carol |

Will you be there tomorrow?
I just thought it would be nice if I knew that any given Saturday there might be the possibility of meeting up with people for a drink - but without the hassle of having to organise it before hand. |

Hhmmm....I´m not buying into the red carnation idea I´m afraid. Don´t want to feel like a total idiot sat there on my own looking like I´ve been stood up for a date!! I´m having trouble thinking of a suitable alternative though.
Kedada = Quedada. Meeting. The verb Quedar is to stay. ¿Como Quedamos? Literally 'how do we stay?' but understood as 'where shall we wait (for you)?' which could be understood as 'where shall we meet?' I've never heard a meeting referred to as a quedada though. Is it a local expression in Jerez? |
