Might be of interest to women whose pension age had been put back from 60
Hi. Here in the UK there is a group called Backto60 who are fighting for women to receive money they should have received when they reached the old pension age of 60 instead of the now 65.
This is on the grounds that they were not given enough notice of the changes to prepare for them happening.
I believe some expat woman could also be effected by this.
They won the right to take it to court but unfortunately lost the case & are now going to appeal.
You can read more about this on Facebook, Twitter etc.
They are fund raising at present to help with the costs & already £36,000 has been donated in just over 24 hours.
Many MP's are behind this campaign.
Please pass this information on to anyone you know that this has been affected by the age changes & if possible donate to the cause. Thank you Karen

I don't have enough posts to send the link but if you type Backto60 Facebook in Google it brings it up

Retirement age in most of the EU is 65 (Spain is going up to 67, UK is going up to 68) so the chances of the age limit being dropped back to 60 is a big fat zero, just won't happen regardless of petitions or demonstrations.

It's the way it was handled that's the problem, bringing the changes in quicker then they had announced. Also not letting everyone know.
225 MP's have signed an EDM & lots more supporting it but can't sign.

I think that they just lost a court case and are currently fund raising to mount an appeal. My wife is one of the affected. In monetary terms we have lost over £45000. To compond this mine has also been pushed back by 1 year, losing another £10,000. Scandalous. It should have been phased in more gradually.
There are additional effects for us expats such as getting on the health service when you officially become a pensioner.

Yeah WASPI want slighty different things to the Backto60 group so I believe if we fail in the court appeal, they will move things forward.
Both groups are supporting each other at the moment & hopefully the outcome will be good.

Exactly terrible the amount of notice some women were given. My wife in run up to pension between ages 55/57checked in writing 3 times because important for both of us as we hoped for health care on basis of her state pension. Their answer was simply you have sufficient contributions for full state pension at age 60 plus serps at the moment but pensions could change . Then at age 58 a letter saying you now will get your pension at 66. To treat people like that is a disgrace .

Delighted to see after just two days #BackTo60 raised £44,500 for their appeal against the #50sWomen judicial review. They wouldn't be asking for the money if experts hadn't advised them they had a good chance.https://t.co/mypoC4va4E
