Hey, be fair, the right has been blaming ZP for ages, so now it's our turn to sit back, put our feet up and sneer at the government.

Which is all that out of power socialists are capable of.

It beats me why anyone is so keen on taking on taking on the impossible and saving this particular ship from going under, but as always the lefties are the first ones in the lifeboats.

It also beats me why ppl get so hysterically happy over a change of govt, especially so in this case, where nothing short of a divine miracle is needed to turn things around.

I see the Irish are a little miffed that their budget was found in the German Bundestag... before their own politicians even had a chance to be shown it.

Germany, Germany above everything,
Above everything in the world,
When, for protection and defence, it always
takes a brotherly stand together.
From the Meuse to the Memel,
From the Adige to the Belt,
|: Germany, Germany above everything.

Thought I would post the words as the rest of you will be singing it by the time the Olympics arrive in London.

The British Blues will be hopping mad over this one, from one of their own.

The German finance minister, the guy in the wheelchair, says something similar.

Could it happen?

I remember something like 275 Pesetas to the pound, then 168 Euros, and I felt rich, as did most other expats. You could live like a lord and get out of your box for a fiver.

You could buy a small house for the price of a family car, and if you wanted a bigger one the cajas were throwing mortgages around like confetti. You could even buy a bar and live off it.

Electricians, plumbers and carpenters were bringing their families over, and hundreds of thousands of pensioners came in from the cold.

I worried when that daft Gordon Brown drew up his stupid list to keep us out of the Euro, I wouldn't have minded joining at 1.50 Euros to the pound. But Gordon said it was all to help our exports. What exports?

And now this. Were we all waiting for parity with the Euro? Are we going to join when it falls to below parity?

Ah, the good old days, eh.
Still it's nice to reminisce.

If Rajoy finds the country is in a worse state than ZP indicated he will have a dilemma. If he says there is no money left it will spook the markets and Spain will need a bail out pronto. He will probably just have to carry on tinkering like ZP

Some of us wouldn't have been here if we had lost.
