The funny thing is that it's been giving me gyp for 18 years, but so have other things. I've got screws and other things in my leg, inserted by experts, and they give me even more gyp.

I'm able to control the pain, and it isn't that bad; at weekends, like now, I call on my friend to help me.

I've got a mate who superglues his crown back on every so often. Doesn't seem to give him a problem. Mind you I have to drive him to the doctor every now and then to get his meds. He buys beer on the way, the doctor tells him to.

I struggle to understand the Indignado movement, why do people sit around quietly to protest? Everywhere else they smash up things to show their anger. It seems Spanish people are bewildered by what is happening to them, as evidenced by the 60-year old women on a brick laying course!

"Trophy Horses" on the dinner table, so little hope for your sparrows I fear bil, though they could end up with the same fate if they start hanging those big trapping nets up again.

The pigeons are taking a hammering around here again, judging by all the shooting in my neighbours garden.
It's looking like snail and pigeon paella again today, unless I can think of a fresh excuse to avoid it.

I genuinely do weep for the stupidity of people who will, like demented lemmings vote for the one that will do them the least good.

My mother was a case in point. She was a devout Thatcherite, altho she wasn't one whose soul was bought with cheap shares of Gas etc, neither did she get a cheap house. Every penny we had we earnt.

She used to gob on about how wonderful it was that Thatcher was in power, how magnificent the tax cuts were, yada, yada, yada. I genuinely think that when the sun shone, she believed it was because Thatcher had bent over.

I got so sick of her gobbing on about that, and how the price of milk was so high compared to when she was a girl..... I sat her down with a pen, paper and calculator, and demonstrated to her that in real terms, the cost of a pint of milk was far, far less than she used to pay as a girl.

Then we turned to Tax cuts. I asked her the following questions.

1. Do you have a wage that pays enough for you to have benefited from the tax cuts? No.
2. Have you enough savings orshares so that you benefits? No.
3. Do you now pay for some services you used to get for free? Yes.
4. Are there now less services for you overall? Yes.

Here's a pensioner who is worse off, who was treated like dirt by the social services while she died by inches, and yet who would regularly worship at the altar of Thatcherism.

I am certain that the right will win this time, because there will be the desire to punish ZP because he was in the chair at the time the US shitstorm struck, and because there are enough people around who are daft enough to believe that things will be better under the right wing.

I laugh when people say this. So, guys, it's all going to be roses and honey all the way, is it? There's going to be more jobs, less people on the paro, hell, it's going to be heaven on earth, I kid you not.

Nothing wrong with sparrow pie. The little f'uckers like to roost in my terrace of a night, so trapping would be pretty easy. My old grandad used to teach me to set traps when I was young. I assure you that I would eat well, where others would starve.

You are quite right. There will be IMO a lot of people who have no work and go short, all in the name of Lady Thatcher who will go to her grave loaded down with all the wealth she scarfed away while she was in power.

"A Trophy Horse" could be one of a number of types, but is typically owned by the Spanish Upper Class who love nothing better than to ride and parade it at every possible opportunity such as fiestas, all done up to the nines, in front of less fortunate souls.
I can't believe you haven't seen them around.
Not quite sure what they taste like, but having eaten other horsemeat before, I probably wouldn't turn my nose up at a slice or two.

I watched an interesting programme on Spanish television earlier, showing people growing most of their own food on their allotments, and using co-operatives to share things you would otherwise have to buy.

The Spanish climate and people friendliness will undoubtedly help them through the hard times that loom ahead. Looking around my garden, a typical foreigner's garden where nothing useful is grown apart from oranges, pomegranates and apricots, and that's through accident; it could easily be transformed.

You can grow everything you need because of the marvellous weather and soil, though I'm not sure about the soil, but I'm sure I could make a few chickens feel at home too.

And could I turn my swimming pool into a trout farm? And I've got room for solar panels too. And perhaps a couple of small wind turbines? They'd be spinning around at the moment.
