Meet up
Hola, I have just arrived in Ayamonte from Australia, I don't know anyone here but I staying in a unit in Mirador for the next 3 months. I would love to meet up with some English speaking locals (permanent or semi-permanent ) who would not mind befriending an Aussie lady. I don't have any transport but am learning the local transportation network but have yet to master the art of getting to a beach. If anyone is out there and not afraid to add to their network of expats in this region I would love to hear from you.
A little about myself ... I am 56 years old and come from a background in the film and television industry. I am here for some more ch need time out. Thanks for taking the time to read this. 😀 |
Re: Meet up

Re: Meet up
Thanks for the link to the bus timetables. I waited for a bus today for over an hour and gave up in the end, yet yesterday I had no trouble getting one at the same stop. Oh well. The bus station ticket office is never open, do you know if it is no longer in use and you must book online or do you just turn up and pay the driver? Thanks for your help

Re: Meet up
Hi
Friday was a Bank Holiday so there were no buses. Just turn up and pay the Bus Driver. Margaret |

Do you live here or just on time out from that busy Sydney life? I am Perth girl from the sunny white shores of Western Australia |

In Coffs Harbour. Sadly we dont get to see her much anymore, but were really lucky at the start of the year as she was doing a school exchange in Belgium. So even with the very strict rules about meeting up (she isn't 18 yet) we were able to spend a good day together. They eat their steaks blue or rare.... and the humour there goes like this when ordering blue/rare "Wipe its bum, take off its horns and slap it on a plate! " :) Years ago (errr decades) there was a funny book helping us Brits to get the accent/lingo right: I remember 2 of the many.... The book title 'Let stalk strine' (lets talk Australian) and..... 'Les en Jem' (Ladies and Gentlemen) ;) Have a great trip to Perth, Mike and look forward to hearing all about it next time we all cross..... Bon voyage Jon |

Bon voyage Jon We are doing a round trip of Oz at breakneck speed: Perth + campervan to do a bit of wild camping; Cairns/Port Douglas for a bit of diving on the GBR; Sydney to swim in backpacker's rip on Bondi; Melbourne for the penguins; stopovers in Hong Kong to climb the giant Buddha. Then we are coming back to CE in November. The bucket trip we had to postpone in 2012. At last, I have the clearance to do it!! |
