Medical Insurance without excess to live in Spain

I have finally arranged my residency in Spain.

The last hurdle was the medical insurance. I took a copy of my policy which was a pretty extensive cover with leading Spanish insurer.
Had a couple of pre-existing illnesses (no company insures you for ongoing pre-existing) . I take in my existing policy and on this visit they spot that I have pre-existing conditions not insured. Police officer turns down my application on this basis.
I go home return 2 weeks later having removed the page of the schedule mentioning uninsured ailments. He seems happy with this policy until he spots that I have a part payment insurance. Yes I pay the first 3.95 of any medical treatment visit i make. Oh dear he has turned me down again despite the fact that my proof of income shows that 3.95 euros is a tiny drop in the ocean.

So home again and wait for next appointment for residency. I then contact my English Medical Insurance Agent who upgrades me to a zero copayment or Copago as its known in Spain and finally I get RESIDENCIA APPROVAL
