Wrong. You need to have been resident for more than 12 months, be on the padron and have a letter saying you no longer have cover in your home Country, because you don't live there anymore (you will then automatically be de registered there!) Up to 65, currently 60 euros per month, over 65 its 157 euros. Prescriptions not covered, and it does NOT depend on you being a EU citizen for sure!

Thank you for the advice folks, I'm dual citizen (pom/Oz) so the first couple of months I will have a combination of EHIC and travel insurance. After which I have found this mob: Tailor Made Health Solutions Spain in Cadiz, Spain
