Mature trees and large garden centres???
Hi all, we are now ready to start planting and landscaping some areas of our land. We want several large mature trees, but our local little garden centres have a very limited selection. We are also looking for climbers and a variety of other plants, (We can get a few locally but again it's very limited). We are based in Oria district but are willing to travel for a good supplier. Can anyone recommend any suppliers, large garden centres etc? Any suggestions greatfully received.
Thanks in advance 🌲🌴🌳

We bought ours from Guzman in Malaga. They deliver for a fee which includes the planting. The truck had a 10 metre reach which we needed.
They have a garden centre and a huge mature trees and plants facility that is very near the back of the airport and adjacent to the new motorway. Open to the public. Wander around or drive around and then get help from the onsite office. You then have to go to the garden Centre to pay and arrange delivery.

Re: Mature trees and large garden centres???
Thank you very much for that. But I think it is just a bit too far away once we have to start paying for delivery etc? I am sure I saw a large (potted tree) garden centre from the motorway on route to Alicante airport? Does anyone know of any mature tree garden centre/supplier within an hour or so for Oria, perhaps Murcia, Lorca. Or Baza, Almeria or Granada?
We went to a little garden centre today and priced up 6 not terribly large trees, with delivery and planting they wanted €477.00. So we need to find someone more cost effective!
Thank you in advance 🌟

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable price. Trees take a long time to grow to a reasonable height and it costs money for a few years of looking after them. A decent palm costs up to €1000 if it is a tall mature one.
You could buy some small ones and just wait for them to grow!

Re: Mature trees and large garden centres???
Hi Fred, I'd agree but non of the trees were very big palms were quoted as over €200 each, (hardly anything had prices on, we had to find someone to ask and prices changed within minuets) one pine tree 5ft, one yucca tree 4ft, one Alamo blanco tree 5ft, one eucalyptus tree 8ft, (cheapest at €20.50), one Morera pendulua tree 5ft and one Cycca 2.5ft. So as I said nothing very large. Perhaps these are the prices? It would be good to compare and even better to find more variety and larger trees. Thanks

Well it proves shopping around pays off. We found another garden centre today, we bought 16 trees (well 15 + given 1 free worth 25€) all but two were between 6-10 ft tall. Cost including delivery 305€....! That's a 172€ saving from the first place and more than double the trees...! This included all compost and manure too. 👌🌟💖 Feeling very happy... 🌞

I see you mentioned Eucalyptus, I do hope you haven't bought one. They are a nuisance with the blossom, the cones, and they are a haven for Wasps. Not indigenous either, don't.
