Mallorca New Move
 

Hi there, we are also thinking of coming to live in spain, particularly Mallorca. Can I ask some questions please? Is Brexit likely to make a difference to whether we can live and work in spain, do you think? Also, is there opportunities to work out of season in the tourist areas or do they all shut up shop out of season? Thank you <3

I dont think anyone truly knows what will happen after Brexit until it happens sadly. We were all lied to by politicians so anythign they say now will all be false anyway and not to be believed.
We can only hope that the fact Spain relies partly on a lot of British tourism that they will still welcome the British otherwise we will all be trapped in a rotting country :(
With regards to Mallorca and out of season work..... depends where you are. North and East coast shuts down completely really from end of October with the exception of the supermarkets and some restaurants that are frequented by locals who still live there.
Your best bet for work would probably be nearer to Palma but again depends on the work as the island does pretty much shut down for mainstream tourists from end of October.
I too want to move out there permanently but its not as easy as it seems. At least I have my NIE now.

What I will also add about Brexit is, no matter what happens I think it will still be possible to move and work in Spain. Many other nationals live there and work there. It may just mean filling in some other forms of paperwork but I am sure anything is possible. We all need each other in the end.
