Thoughts are with all those suffering devastating loss in the Mallorca floods of Tuesday. Not only the families of those who have lost their lives ,but those still missing ,those who have lost everything in this terrible tragedy. At least two British people are dead ,some still missing. My friends family lives in the centre of Sant Llorenc,luckily they are all safe ,but have lost everything. My other friend was sunbathing by her pool on the other side of the island ,no idea that this was happening .Terrible

Agree, shocking how quickly things can escalate and the power/force of nature. Thoughts are obviously with those affected, either directly or indirectly. I'm flying over there later today, but do not need to go near the affected areas. The webcams now show a scene of tranquillity and the forecast good for the next couple of days. I hope the rain does not return to hamper any ongoing rescue/search/repair work.

As tragic as it was, it was thankfully limited to a small area. Most people in Mallorca (including myself) were completely unaware of it until hearing about it on the news. In fact, during the storm, much of the island was in full sun. We did see the black clouds off in the distance though. But this is not unusual for October.
