low cost fibre b/band deals???
Hi all, Does anyone out there feel they are getting a good deal for basic FIBRE broadband deals ? I've recently cancelled my Priinet transmitter wifi service. I plan to take up fibre which was recently cabled to our urbanisation when we can return to Spain, hopefully by summer 2021. Priinet are offering fibre starting at 25 euros a month for a 12 month minimum agreement. I'm assuming the optic fibre infrastructure belongs to Spains national Telefonica company, but other smaller players can hook into it. The Priinet offering ( a small ayamonte/ huelva company) is for 50Mb by fibre as opposed to the 6 Mb I've had for the past 6 years. ( No that's not a mistake - we originally had 4 Mb). But I'm assuming there are lots of smaller players who operate nationally in Spain just the same as in the UK.
Therefore should anyone feel they are getting a really good deal do tell us !! I will want to get this sorted as soon as we eventually get back out there.
Thanks.... Keith ( formerly a BT engineer many moons ago in another life !!)

I would recommend the Movistar Fusion deal. Now at a minimum speed of 300mb/s.
Landline, two mobile contracts and Spanish TV channels.

Re: low cost fibre b/band deals???
Alot of smaller companies are just getting a megafast connection to their office and bouncing it to peoples houses like "line of sight" satalites.
In our area we cant get a telefonica connection (campo/villa), even tho we are 200m from an urbanisation with >3 million euro houses... We have a satalite / line of sight system that gives us 100mb for 29.90 a month, but our neibours have just had a solid line installed with a newer company, they are 300mb for 29,90 a month.
If you are in town, Movistar or 02online.es (same company, one bought the other) is now 50€ for 600mb up/down and a mobile sim card with 30gb of data. Absolutly fantastic if you have a townhouse.

As far as I can remember the install for the main fibre infrastructure to down your way was awarded to Orange.
I guess, from what you say, they or others have now run the last leg to your urbanisation.
However, guessing your place is in CE to get anywhere near the advertised speeds for FO the cable into your property probably has to be upgraded.
Regardless of this the Priinet offer doesn't look that good. A competitor is offering 100mb Sin Permanencia - Sin Cuota de línea - Sin Necesidad de fijo Tráfico Ilimitado for 25.50 a monthIVA inc
Others are even cheaper.
Best

Re: low cost fibre b/band deals???
Hi Loco, Yes we are on Marina Esuri, M3. Who was the company you mentioned offering 100mb for 25.50 a month please? Regarding the cabling I've no idea where the fibre terminates. Clearly there must be a cabinet somewhere on the urb. where the fibre ends and has access to the copper pairs to each apartment. I doubt there is fibre to each portal hence I suspect there is a Casita somewhere up near the entrance or just possibly to each manzana? I wasn't there to see it going in. To be fair to Priinet when we had nothing six years ago and when priinet offered the line of site transmission wifi link it was great just to be connected to the outside world. Moving on six years, paying upwards of 15 euros a month for extremely low bandwidth no longer makes sense. I paid them for the last 9 months without being there in the hopes that covid would fade, but finally decided to cancel going the Fibre route on our return. TBH, I'm surprised priinet has not offered a basic fibre deal of say 50 megs for 20 euros a month for existing customers. SIMPLES !! (Their maintenance costs on the pole mounted receivers must be quite a bit.) Most of their line of sight customers could then switch over without the risk of losing them going to the competition. That said there isn't much competition right now, but hopefully that will hot up in 2021.
What we need is the equivalent of Plusnet or Talktalk over there and I'm looking !!

Sure Keith. It's Wihu. Not sure if they are offering FO in CE yet but my guess is they will soon enough as they have a strong local presence. . They also offer part year rates for holiday homes.
Cheaper still is finetwork at 20.90 euro a month. They don't currently offer FO at CE but may well soon if Vodaphone do.
