Default Looking for Spanish Reg vehicle

Hi Everyone
We are planning to move out there (Velez Malaga area) in August this year. Before then we would like to purchase a second hand Spanish Reg vehicle as we think it would help logistically. We are visiting our house out there in about 3 weeks time for 9 days. Is is possible to purchase a vehicle and complete all the paperwork within that time frame? If not, would our lawyer be able to do this for us? Have any of you purchased a vehicle prior to moving out and how was this done??
If all this can be done we are looking for either a Honda CRV or Nissan X-Trail or similar with a budget of around 5000 euros - if anyone in the Velez area has one to sell???
Thanks for your help and sorry for all the questions.

Second hand car for 5000€

Good luck with that! Seriously. Used car prices are totally ridiculous, we've seen 14 year old cars with an asking price of 6-7000€ and nothing special about them at all.

I know its not the way to do it but look at one of the free papers or check the spanish online edition of autotrader to see what prices are like before committing to any purchase. You will find C-rv or x-trail will be far more than you are looking to pay.

I know that second hand vehicles are very expensive out there, but we have seen some within our price range, but not in the area. Obviously don't know what condition they are in, but look ok in the images given. The ones we have seen online are all being sold through the trade.

Not for the average 14 year old family car. €2000 is much closer to the mark, possibly even less.

You might pay a little more for an X-trail but nowhere near 7k for a 14 year old equivalent.

Just like property, some people have seriously over inflated opinions of what they are worth.

Have a look at the following, can't vouch for them but they will give you an idea

www.autoscout.es
www.motorcadespain.com

If you buy from a dealer then they should do all the paperwork for ypu, although you must have an NIE before you start.
Alternatively you could buy a Spanish reg car in the UK and either drive it over or export it. But you do need to ensure it is legal and debt free or you could have a nasty shock at the border.

Just two trips a week in January gets better toward the end of February when Pont rejoins the fleet after her winter refit.
