Lliria

Does anyone know why Lliria (in Valencia) is so cheap? It seems to tick all the boxes but the super low prices make me wonder about buying property in this area? Is it cheap to buy and then impossible to sell?

Could be just what you want in a location that suits you?

Do not forget there are fees to buy and sell.

Cheap depends what you are used to but you have to look at local salaries and supply and demand. In general properties in Spain don't sell quickly, so always think home rather than investment. The Spanish person will rather have an apartment closer to city and foreigners buying holiday homes prefer coast. Don't forget that a cheap house might have many hidden costs.

Lliria is a decent enough town with the benefit of the Metro connection to Valencia. Everything you need for day to day living is there.
As to the prices of dwellings, it's no different to many other towns on the outskirts of Valencia.

A lot of what are sometimes referred to as "villas" were built as weekend homes for those who spend the working week in Valencia. Consequently they can be more basic than you might expect, both in quality of materials and layout. The issue of habitation certificate can also be an issue in the area.

Glad you posted today. Just back from summer in BI and watched that programme on a wet afternoons to remind us of home.
Whilst we were there staying with my son he upgrade to SkyQ and they left his sky multi room boxes. So we now have a 2TB Sky HD box and a smaller box with no card slot for multi room. There does not appear to have been a physical connection between the boxes.
Is it possible to replicate the set up here can I put my card in the Sky box then link via WiFi to the small multi room box to give Sky in the lounge and bedroom?

SkyQ boxes have the card inserted in them. They use your internet network to transmit the signals to the "slave" boxes.

Sky+HD and the SkyHD "multiroom" boxes all require their own separate card. You cannot link them together via the internet like SkyQ as they simply do not have that functionality.
The small "multiroom" boxes do have a card slot. They have a small pull down flap on he right hand side for the card slot.

Denia is on Place in the Sum on Friday (i think!)

Thanks for that information I shall investigate further. Does this mean that there is no linkage either through duplicate cards or via Ethernet or do you buy two sets of programmes on the cards and pay x 2?

Sky Multiroom works that you have one "main" card at "full price", and a second card at 10gbp per month, that mirrors the main card.
However, they do try to police this by asking for the boxes to be on the same internet network, so they can make sure you are not using the cheaper card elsewhere (eg one main card in the UK, and the multiroom card in Spain).
But not too sure how strict they are at policing this these days...which is why they are trying to move people who use multiroom onto SkyQ, as it is easier to police, and stops people misusing the multiroom card...

Thanks again for the info. Most helpful.
Again just for info is it possible to get SkyQ to work in Spain behind a VPN?
