Yes, those in-flight magazines must be one helluva good training manual. I'm surprised no-one thought of selling books like "bricklaying for dummies" at the airport bookshops.

Ah, that explains why all the Brits around here are "into Property Management" although after speaking to them you would be surprised if they could manage to tie their own laces.

all they do is look after the keys

they might do a bit of cleaning.......................................... .........

maybe it should be 'key management & cleaning'

obviously I'm not referring to the professional, registered & insured property management companies

I saw a programme about a couple who wanted to bring speedway to a part of Spain that had never even heard the word, never mind having a following there.
The bought a piece of land and forgot about the problems with the dust. They thought that a couple of portaloos and a tea urn would be all the facilites needed.
They invited a few local celebs from the UK for the grand opening.

I wonder what happened to them..... does anyone know?

We saw one about two months ago where the mature couple had been in Spain for a long time (15 years?) and the prog was about their last ditch effort at ‘yet another’ business. They chose doggie clothes and diamonte collars etc.

They hadn’t picked up any Spanish in all their time there (the husband went for a fiesta after lunch!) and their business launch brochure was in English only. With no apparent business plan and no marketing investigation we watched aghast as they bombed.

One couple were converting an old townhouse onto a B&B, somewhere on the Costa de La Luz. They were putting a pool on the roof. It showed them going to Morocco shopping for stuff to decorate it (as you do!). Don't know if it ever opened but has been for sale ever since and says partly finished.

Then there was two women from Marbella who spent thousands on some horrible ethnic rugs, even though they had been trying to sell some samples and didn't even sell one.

I remember the couple shopping in Morocco!

that place looked like it could be incredible - on paper!

so they never finished it? - can't say I'm that surprised - it was rather an ambitious project & I seem to remember they ran out of money during filming!

Reading some posts on this forum maybe the programmers select prospective stars here. Harebrained or what?
May be they should start one for Northern Spain...A Place in the rain would suit some posters views on Northern Spain
