liquids in hand luggage
Hi all, does anyone know whether the 100ml allowance is ever going to be lifted, now I am coming over more often I don't need to have a bag in the hold, but would be nice to be able to bring home stuff like sun cream and aloe vera gel which is better than UK bought. and to be able to bring over some decent conditioner would be nice. not to mention bringing home some lovely wine. by the way I always travel Easyjet

it's not an individual airline rule though, is it? It's general & worldwide

I think you're asking, when will the threat of terrorists ever disappear? I fear the answer is never. It's debateable as to whether we really need the blanket ban, but I suspect the ban will remain in place for many years. So you have the choice of putting it in your checked-in luggage, or not taking it, I'm afraid. Which suits those operators who charge for luggage.

If you have a UK address / a friend in UK? You may find it convenient to post some items.
I have given up carrying booze. I decided it is too heavy and the risk of breakage is high. My favourite spanish wine "Marques de Caceras" is available in the UK, unfortunately it is more expensive. You may find your tipple here? >

It would appear that you can bring back any number of 100ml containers up to a litre capacity - so that would be two litres for two people. Should be enough for anyone.

•containers must be carried in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures approximately 20cm x 20cm
•contents must fit comfortably inside the bag so it can be sealed
•the bag must not be knotted or tied at the top
•each passenger can carry only one of these bags
Not a chance of getting 10 x 100ml in a bag 20 x 20cm......

things from Spain are better than UK bought
there are people here who will be jumping down your throat at the thought that 3rd World Spain could do anything better than the UK.
Joking aside, isnt this why there are different formulations of well known products as you move around the world.? I remember coming back from Singapore and I couldnt get used to the soap the everything. Probably all due to the water, the angle of the sun, its intensity etc etc. from living in the frozen and wet north.
It is only in recent years that manufacturers have agreed and started manufacturing products to suit those of Afro-Caribean origin than Anglo-Saxon/Nordic origin. Hair as well as skin are different and need different formultion.
As to price, well that is what the market will bear, and in the UK it seems to be the highest of all.
It is highly unlikely they will lift the rules this side of the millenium, partly because it keeps people employed "protecting our borders" whilst they allow so many II's in each year almost as if it is a quota.
I have friends and family I would like to give a bottle of wine or few to but no chance. I have a Spanish friend who I have owed a bottle of 54% Woods Rum to for well over a year but no chance.

you will find there are hardly any restrictions for a small package sent via post.
last month was in UK and took delivery of printer carts from DHL, changed the delivery address and dropped off to local post office to send as a small packet to the EU for about £2.50. Massive saving on getting the item sent by supplier into europe.
we regularly send things from here to UK for neice who is learning Spanish at school.
