Default life for the young in Gib,(ahem age29)

Hi,
I have read alot of negatives on here for living in Gib. Small, claustrophobic, expensive etc.

I have found work available nursing through an agency providing a full relocation package from the UK. So I hope trouble with accommodation etc will be eliminated.

I am just wondering is there a life for a single 29 yr old female possible in Gib. I am mad into fitness so would need to find another boxing club or at a last resort gym. Also mad into music so is there much of a music scene etc. OR is it as dull as made out ?? Many other young british people relocating.

Sorry for repeats.
Thanks in advance x

As Concierges for the Spanish section of BE we would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let us know if you need any further help.

Rosemary and Graham

Welcome sabsab

Like anywhere else life is what you make it.

Yes Gib is very small but most pastimes are catered for including boxing although I have no idea about women boxing.

With nowhere more than 500 meters from the sea water sports are well catered for.

For general fitness a jog to the top of the rock 1400 ft will help

I have lived in and around Gib for 35 years and still find the place interesting.

Also with Spain on your doorstep there are plenty of opportunities to get out and about.

I once worked with an American Seal team for 2 weeks on Gib and they seemed to manage to keep fit just confined to Europa Point with a daily round the Rock run but it was a bit hairy in the tunnels.
