Legalizing Homes in Almanzora and Axarquía
El presidente de la Junta de Andalucía, José Antonio Griñán, ha anunciado este domingo que el gobierno autonómico aprobará a principios del próximo año, probablemente el 10 de enero, el decreto para la regularización de las viviendas edificadas en suelo no urbanizable. (El Mundo, Sunday)
The JdeA will approve a new law to legalize most of the illegal homes in Almanzora (Almería) and the Axarquía (Málaga).
Is that going to fix the problem?

It will probably make it worse, as anyone building illegally now know they can eventually get it sorted with the brown envelope.

They have certainly killed the international market dead. In Almería, just one house was demolished - the home of Helen and Len Prior in Vera in January 2008. They've been living in their garage ever since (on a site which is now earmarked by the same Junta de Andalucía for 35,000 houses).
The Prior's television appearances in Britain, Norway and Germany will have lost the Spanish people billions in sales and regular monthly income plus thousands of jobs. So, there's a way to go certainly...
