Default Is it legal to post or take a Jamon to the UK?

Is it? Would be especially interested in links to info to prove it. I know there will be many people who just do it anyway. I've done it myself but i want to know the current ruling.

The latest info I could find .... https://www.gov.uk/personal-food-pla...roduct-imports

They sell whole Jamon in shops in Scotland.

Yes, no problem at all.

There are NO restrictions on moving meat between EU member countries.

I took one as hand luggage in 2011. It was great at xmas, trouble was by february it had gone rancid.

The warm moist air in UK homes is just a breeding ground for mould and mildew, totally different from the hot dry air in Spain where you can see them on bars for weeks on end.

We take loads of food back to the UK including ham, all in hand luggage and never have any problems, of course the 100ml of liquids applies to food products so you can't take everything
