Leather suite cleaner.
 

Just wondering if anyone knows of a leather cleaner for my suite. Ive just washed it down with warm water and aerial washing powder. Although its cleaner I am sure with a specialist product it will come up gleaming :D

For my leather suite in UK I bought an extremely expensive product which worked fairly well but my daughter always bought the leather wipes (really, really cheap) and they worked just as well. I know that carrefour sells them because that is what I use on OH's leather office chair and they work well. Not sure of other places though.

You should never use detergents like washing powder on leather Pam...

:eek::eek: Sam AERIAL I will go along with Matt for once,never use detergents on Leather.Iv used allsorts,some quite expensive,and a sh**e to use,I now use a cleaner from Halfords its an all in one cleaner and conditioner, its just called leather cleaner from Mer,pain in the butt job whichever you use.........Detergents cause the leather to crack :eek:

Despite being dead....leather needs the fatty acids and oils it holds within it to last and not tear, its why chemically treated or tanned leather doesn't last as long as oak tanned leather, the chemicals strip the oils and acids...

The same happens with ant detergents, and for the most part they are like aging creams, most of them are pure crap!

Use a saddle soap and only clean it a couple of times a year. Saddle soap has natural oils and in particular bees wax in it, absolutely the best thing for it.

Harsh detergents will damage your leather, even though many people and furniture companies recommend it. You can get away with dreft, but not too strong a mixture

Any solvent type cleaners will remove the colour from your leather without any problems.

Baby wipes have proved quite good in the oast for slight general soiling.

You need to use a specialist leather cleaner, followed by a leather conditioner. You should always condition leather suits about every 6 months. Over here of course you have the added problem of sun tan lotion and skin products wiping off.

This is the kind of stuff you need.

I'ts what I used to clean suites if the leather was just too sensitive for the leather cleaner we used. You need to put a really good conditioner on it after its dried out though. Trust me, I was aleather suite doctor :D

Babywipes are the best thing I have found so far. ;-))

You'd use a lot of baby wipes to clean a full suite properly :)

The husbands were always at work ;)
There were stories abound in the network about half naked women in the home, but sadly it never happened to me.
However a cleaning pipe burst on me once and soaked me, and a lady asked if I wanted to take my trousers off so she could wash them for me :D
