Leaf Miner
Can anyone suggest a good way of getting rid of leaf miner. My Orange, Lemon and Lime trees are all suffering

Re: Leaf Miner
I was recommended confidor.
You can always take a few leaves to somewhere that sells treatments and ask them. |

Re: Leaf Miner
As Bil says, Confidor is the preferred solution used by the commercial growers.
That said, the leaf curl is really only cosmetic and won't affect the crop significantly. Confidor is a systemic insecticide and you do not necessarily need to spray it. You can paint it neat onto the trunk or water it in around the tree. It has a 30 day "don't pick the fruit" timescale so bear that in mind if you still have fruit on the tree. |
Re: Leaf Miner
I think I remember someone saying to me to alternate with another insecticide every year or so as they can build up immunity.
Also prune heavily at the appropriate times to keep the structure of the tree open without crossing branches etc, as a lot of pests like those. |
