Unhappy Last free day tomorrow

So from Monday we won't be able to go out and about at leisure, only for work or buying food. So what will you do? Surely you can't stay indoors!!

And anyone any idea how it will be enforced? How will anyone know if I'm actually going to the supermarket and not just for a walk?

I have no choice but to walk the dogs. We have nowhere else for them to do their business.

Not from Monday, from now. From El País:
Sánchez explained that, as had been expected after a draft of the decree was leaked earlier today, all travel across Spain will be restricted from Saturday night, with citizens only able to leave their homes to make journeys in order to travel to supermarkets, their jobs, pharmacies, banks, gas stations, and other such essential destinations.

I will be walking my dog to the supermarket 2 or 3 times a day, whether we need any shopping or not.

Sit in the garden and read a book, drink some wine and run an extension lead to keep the laptop charged!

Judging by the behaviour of people in Mercadona yesterday morning, not very long I should say.

I agree with you it started here on friday.Trolley wars parking wars long queues, and the poor shelf stacker could not get the goods on the shelf quick enough before they emptied her trolley. Some people had a job to push their own trolley to the carpark. In my opinion you are all on your own when it really hits lets hope it blows over fast

It does stand to reason the internet traffic will increase tremendously as people watch TV for news etc and send non stop messages on whatsapp etc.

However, Spain has a modern high capacity comms network which should be able to cope and given most of the traffic will be on ADSL as against out in the street to mobile masts it should survive. And remember business internet traffic will be down.

But this could be its biggest ever test. So vamos a ver...

Ridiculous???

Both my sons work in the industry - one a network engineer and one an internet technician. Both have seen signs of saturation on local networks - already. The information coming out of larger companies (and my eldest helps manage Movistar and Vodafone networks in Spain) is that they should prepare for mega outages.

More families at home == more netflix usage etc. I agree business usage may be down but home consumption on medium bandwidth ADSL will be stretched.
