LAND BEING TAKEN??
Hi all, We're thinking about buying a Finca, but have heard stories about the land just being taken by the government and either complexs put up or a road put through your land?
Does anyone know how true this is? Or is it people not buying land and just building? If anyone can shed some light would be much appreciated. Thanks  |

Re: LAND BEING TAKEN??
Don't buy until you have lived in Spain and got to understand the ways of life here. Rent for a while and get to know the country before buying.

Good advise, no need to rush into anything and you will definatley pick up a bargain at the moment ,Ive heard of areas being turned into urbanisations all over spain and the current residents pick up the bill, better to buy a bit deeper in the campo where theres little chance of future development ,
High risk of it being illegal. Rosemary |

Not true, many old cortijo`s have been up over 100 years and so long as they can or have been registered theres no issue ,new builds less than 20-30 yrs old are another matter and should be approached with caution! as should almacens (sheds) that have been converted into living acomodation!

Will do a search and hopefully find out some more Thanks How much do you want to spend? Send me your list of wants and I will see what is around the Villablanca Sanlucar/Alcoutim area. I know of one for renting just upriver from Alcoutim in Portugal Steve |
Re: LAND BEING TAKEN??
Land grab has been a major problem in the Valencian Community and to a lesser extent in Andalucia. it isnt such a big problem now, but get a good lawyer and do your home work and you should be okay. I totally agree however with some of the other comments. Rent first before you but, you might not like the area, you might not settle in Spain and given the current market, it will take a year or two to resell the property if you cant settle.
